Analog is where I started about 20 yrs ago as an apprentice fixing TV&#8217;s\/radios and I&#8217;m still passionate about that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What do I do for my living? I&#8217;m a FAE (Field Application Engineer) manager at Avnet Silica based in Austria. In this function I do lead the power electronic FAE&#8217;s of Avnet Silica in EMEA, do support customers with various design challenges in power electronics and do seminars to share my knowledge with customers. That means from your average buck converter up to your very fancy SiC MOSFET traction inverter is everything I do care of and do support if needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I did study at the JKU in Linz and finally finished my studies at the University of Applied Science in Wels in Electrical Engineering with a B.Sc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Besides the analogue part of engineering I&#8217;m also able to do some digital stuff, but thats mainly for controlling power supplies , digital filters and doing software based numeric calculations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is a list of programming languages I&#8217;m able to do:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>C<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>C#<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Matlab\/Scilab\/Octave<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Java<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Python (but I dont like it very much)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Languages I&#8217;m able to speak<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>German (The austrian version of it)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>English (fluent)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>French (un petit peu)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Italian (Un po&#8217;, sto imparando)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The layout tool I use most is Kicad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you want to say hi, you have some question or need support regarding any power supply related topic just feel free to contact me via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/thomas-hauer-aa812b3b\/\">linkedin<\/a>.
